The story of kik begins in the 1940s, when a visionary chemist at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) made a groundbreaking invention: Switzerland’s first insect repellent. Inspired by this breakthrough, the marketing department decided to give the product the lively and memorable name kik: kik – kick the mosquitoes away – an affectionate invitation to simply chase the annoying mosquitoes away. In no time at all, kik found its way into people’s hearts and households and became a loyal companion that protected the whole family from mosquito bites during the warm summer months.
Kik continues to be manufactured in Switzerland and offers the most comprehensive range of insect protection products on the Swiss market. All with dermatologically confirmed Swiss Made formulations for reliable protection. The "Swiss Made" label stands for quality, precision, innovation and reliability. And production in Switzerland protects jobs here and keeps the added value in the country.
All products from kik are produced and processed in Switzerland with great care and dermatologically confirmed “Swiss Made” formulations for reliable protection.

Trees are crucial for the balance of our ecosystem. They produce oxygen, store carbon, provide a habitat for animals and help regulate the water cycle. We see it as our responsibility to support their protection.
Our PET packaging consists of 50% recycled plastic. This allows us to reduce plastic waste and conserve raw materials without compromising on product quality.
Together with our suppliers, we are continuously working to improve technologies and supply chains in order to further increase the proportion of recycled material in the future.
As part of this collaboration, we invest in reforestation projects around the world. One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization that aims to protect, restore and nurture forests. It does this by planting trees to restore degraded ecosystems, promote biodiversity and combat climate change.
